Disable Firewall
A firewall is designed to protect your computer from allow or block programs trying to access your computer based on the firewall settings specified on the security criteria. It is used to prevent unauthorized users or hackers to gain access of your computer. When you are connected to the internet, possible hackers and viruses are just on the background waiting for their chance to access your computer. If you are using a DSL line or a cable modem, you have the so-called “always on” connection which makes you vulnerable to hackers and viruses.
That is why it is important that you have a personal firewall installed on your computer. This is also the reason why you should not have disable firewall at all times.

Malwares can read the cookies from your browser and gain important information. This is also how hackers gain information of your credit card numbers and other pertinent information about you that leads to identity theft.
Keeping your computer safe while connected to the internet is critical and is very important. That is why it is recommended not to disable your firewall and keep it on at all time. That is why windows firewall is turned on by default to make sure your computer has firewall protection. If you really need to disable the firewall, then it is best that you do this when you are not connected to the internet to make sure your computer does not become a possible threat for hackers and malwares. When you are not connected to the internet, then nobody can gain access to your computer. It would be best if you disconnect your computer from the modem as well to make sure.
Having a firewall as prevention on your computer is a must, but if you disable the firewall, it will not be able to do its job to protect your computer. Though you may already have a built-in firewall on your computer, it is still best to have a personal firewall installed on your computer. This is to make sure that all possible threats are detected and will not be given a chance to gain access to your system. It is important not to disable firewall at all times and leave it on to keep your computer safe from internet threats.
